I AM VERY MUCH INTERESTED IN BUYING A AFRICAN GREY,AS I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING I HAVE COME ACROSS A BREEDER IN THE UK WHO SELLS TIMNEHS 175 POUND AND SILVER GREYS 250 POUND,DOES THIS SOUND OK OR DO YOU THINK THAT THEY ARE WILD BRED FOR THIS PRICE?I AM AFTER A BABY CONGO THAT AS BEEN HAND REARED DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY GOOD BREEDERS IN STAFFORDSHIRE?

That sounds very cheap. A hand reared baby Congo is likely to be in the region of £500 or £600 and this is the sort of figure you should be looking for. In the large petshop chains they can be up to £950 which is way over the top.

I have got two Congo African Greys aged 11 and 13. One started talking at five months but the other has never talked.

Try Becks Bird Barn nr Hodnet (Between Market Drayton and Telford) African Greys are £695. Also have a website .co.uk. Very good you can see that each bird is well cared for.
