I was reading a lot about grey's in the last little while, but i am still not clear about the bath....how do i do this? I can't really see me bringing the bird in the bathroom and giving him a shower..... :-[ is there a way that he enjoy his bath? Thank you for any help

Welcome Freddy, Start off with a fine mist squirt bottle. You will find your Grey will be somewhere between a bath in his water bowl, and going to the shower with you. It all depends; they are as individual as we are. There was a guy that used to visit here, and he had pictures of himself in the shower with his Grey. I think his name was Jim, and the bird was Silver. He also had a website and a forum, but Jane is better at remembering that stuff than I am. If she remembers, perhaps you could ask him how he trained Silver to do that. Keep in touch with your little buddies progress.

Yes I just went to the site where Jim and Silver were and the address has changed. Jim's site is much the same but Silver doesn't seem to be there anymore. I know Jim was trying to find a new home for Silver because he was allergic to the dander so maybe he has.
I use a very small sprayer, the sort used for air plants. They don't always want one, other times they decide they want to get really wet. I spray mine in the mornings before they have had breakfast and it has become part of their routine. If Freddy has a bath in his water bowl take that as an opportunity to spray him as well because then he will be most receptive.

You need to train him to step-up so that you will be able to carry him around. Put your hand in front of him, just above his feet and gently pushing his tummy. At the same time say "step-up" or something like that, it doesn't matter as long as you say the same thing every time. He should learn to step onto your hand when you ask him to.
