Just a quick question, we were eating our dinner a few weeks ago, and Merlin got very interested!!! We have this mix of vegetable from a local shop that we get from the freezer section. It’s a mix of baby carrots, Broccoli florets, sweetcorn, and cauliflower florets. Now obviously this was frozen, so we thawed it out and cooked in boiling water (no salt), and put on our plate – that’s it! Is this safe for Merlin to eat? We checked the bag for additives and thongs like that and there was nothing there. He dived and seemed to love ever so much. I guess fresh is best, but is this ok?
Please let me know
thanks

Hi there, I use both fresh and frozen veg for my grey and she eats both quite happily. I suppose fresh is best but sometimes a bag of frozen is great for ease. Have you tried feeding Merlin pomegranate? It Gypsys absolute favorite.

Yes frozen is fine. Commercially frozen veg are picked and frozen very quickly so will retain a good percentage of nutrients. Light steaming is better than boiling though, for nutrient retention.

They are yery good for him. Push the broccoli as it is high in calcium which he needs lots of.

Yes but check for hot (and cold) spots in the food as microwave ovens can be very uneven.

Pete only eats his hot, and it has to be on my plate. We have an electric steamer that works great. They are pretty inexpensive.
