hello My African Grey is turning really nasty, we have had him over 3 weeks now, at first he loved everyone, he even started to respond to up command, this last week his behavior has become very challenging, he is attacking anyone who goes to his cage, he bit my husband and drew blood, he wont respond to up command he grabs the cage with his beak and wont let go. the only person he will tolerate is me, and i am starting to feel afraid of him because of the way he attacks everyone else. we really love him and we keep encouraging him, but he is getting worse, even going near his cage now he is squawking and attacking.
please if anyone could help
best wishes Karen

Assuming you haven't made any changes which have upset him, it sounds as if he has settled down, gained confidence, become territorial over his cage and is trying to assert himself. Don't stop anyone going to the cage because this will reinforce his behaviour but make sure they watch his body language to avoid getting bitten. As he will tolerate you be positive with him, don't let him think you are at all nervous but continue with the up command.
