Or maybe untraining...
Pinot has decided to start making the sound that the microwave makes. This wouldn't be a big deal, but he does it all the time and extremely loud!
What can I do to decourage this behavior?

Get him interested in something else, but he will soon tire of it. That's a Grey for you!

I've read that birds like to imitate the microwave for the same reason they imitate a phone, they see their humans jump up and respond to the sound. I guess Pinot's hoping that beeping will bring you running to him.
Maybe you could teach him that beeping will make you go away instead. When he beeps while you're in the room, walk out until he stops, or completely ignore him. When he makes sounds you approve of, smother him with praise.

BoBo is the king of irritating noises and he takes great pleasure in ticking me off! The only thing that works for me is to ignore the current annoying sound and wait for the next one My fiance thought it would be funny to teach BoBo the "sport's whistle" sound on his new keyboard...it's not. However, the Mission Impossible theme song is!
