Hi everyone, I'm Jen. The CAG that owns me is named Pilot. He'll be 2 in January. He's awesome. He loves to talk. He picks things up quite easily..which has recently become a problem because he spent 2 weeks at my parents house while I was on vacation. My dad cusses like a sailor, so Pilot has picked up a few interesting words. Pilot's favorite thing to do is bark like the dogs and then yell "No" and "hush up." He's never been a problem until recently. I recently bought him a really big cage. He seems to like it alot. He hardly ever wants to come out. I think he's become territorial now. He won't step up when I reach inside. He grabs onto my finger with his foot and then tries to bite me. I'll leave the door open so he'll come out on his own and try to get him to step up from there. He lunges for me and then stomps his foot. I've never heard of a bird stomping it's foot before. Is this because he's almost in his terrible 2's or as a result of the bigger cage? Any ideas?

Hello Jen, welcome to the forum. The new cage has possibly initiated his current behaviour. They can sometimes get quite territorial about their cages and decide they don't want you to reach in and get them out. Is he like it all the time or is there a time of day when he is worse? Mitzi usually decides when she wants to come out and when she doesn't. Watch for his body language to try and avoid being bitten.

He's like that all the time now. Yesterday I went into my room and I heard him whisting really loud. I opened my door and he was standing there on the floor. I picked him up, hoping he came to his senses and decided to like me again..but he just bent down and bit me! The stomping thing is really weird. It really seems like he's giving me a dirty look and then stomping his foot.
