My African Grey Seems to be "crying" some times. It is not consistent, but varies from time to time. She does this with her wings dropped as far as they will go. Is this some type of mating sign. The sound she makes is hard to explain but 'crying" is as close as I can get. Thanks for any help

Yes, that sounds like mating behaviour. Males and females both do it, it is a sort of panting and squeaking with the wings down.

How old is she? Joshua does this too, when he is sitting on his anti-perspirant bottle. Lidia

Jane, Is there anything I can do for her besides get a male parrot? And yes, panting is what I wanted to say only with a little squeak in the pant.

No not really. It is best to just try and distract her.

Joshua is easily distracted by a whiz around the room on my hand and a kiss and a cuddle or being taken into another room. Lidia
