When I got home yesterday I almost had a heart attack. Gogo plucked out the bottom dark big feathers of her wings! She packed them neatly on the pine cones (she loves playing with it in the cage). Is this normal behaviour? I'm very worried.

I am wondering if this is all to do with her nesting behaviour and the egg laying. It sounds as if she is now trying to create a chick. Maybe you should remove any toys which look even remotely like eggs or chicks.

Thanks Jane, I will remove all toys! She even placed the smaller feathers inside the cones - you won't know how right you are...I would have never thought about it.

It sounds as if she is now trying to create a chick. That sounds really creepy! Is it a common behaviour? The description of the pine cone and the feathers piled on it made my skin crawl. Lidia
