About a week and a half ago I got a TAG. He is about 4 months old. We are getting along great. He loves to be held and loves affection. Everything is fine when I am holding him, but he has no idea what to do when I put him down outside his cage, unless I give him something to eat. When he has nothing to eat, he insists on flying to me which isn't good because his wings are clipped. He pretty much follows me around wherever I go. I have tried to give him various toys, tried toilet paper and such but he isn't interested in anything at all. I have even tried to demonstrate to him how to play with it. Is there a way to better familiarize him with objects other than me?
Thanks for your help!

It is because he is still a baby and wants to be with you. Mitzi was like this although Monty was much less clingy. Just be patient with him, he will get more independent as he gets older.

You might also try putting him on the floor and letting him walk after you, this used to work very well with Joshua when he was a baby (as he was clipped at the time).
He is probably just very curious about what's going on around him and wants to see/hear as much as possible. It's very natural behaviour, I would be careful not to discourage it, as Jane says, just be patient with him.

Thanks for the advice! I just wanted to be sure that allowing him to follow me around all the time wasn't going to cause him to grow to dependant on me for all of his entertainment. I was just worried that he may get to be too dependant that I would not be able to ever leave him on his own to play.
Thnaks for the help!
