Last night, my friend (who lives in the flat next door to mine) came over for a G&T, having just washed her hair. Joshua, who quite likes her, sat on her back preening her hair, a thing he has NEVER done for me in the sixteen years I've had him. Should I be feeling jealous, paranoid, insecure? Lidia

If it was wet or damp, he was probably sucking it to get the moisture out. Mylo used to do this but he's gone from that to now hanging upside down off the back of my head holding on to about 5 strands of hair with one foot while im trying to towel dry and put the straighteners on!! My cockateil used to love sucking my hair when it was wet.

Aha! Perhaps I shall sit with a wet head tonight with him and see what happens. How odd. When I blow dry my hair, he sits on my chest, preening himself and enjoying an occasional whoosh of warm air up his bum. Thanks, Tweets. Lidia

Monty likes to preen my hair but Mitzi is just so lazy! She will sit there with her head down wanting me to scratch it. After a while I say to her: "My turn now" and put my head down. She will give one cursory little tweak on a strand of hair and then immediately put her head down again.

sparky does the same thing with preening my wifes hair.he doesnt do it to anyone else either.he will also try so many times to land on her whilst she is styling it also.and also uses her head after eating to wipe his beak in it.
