Hi Everyone,
I'm just new to this site and i need some urgent advise.
Jusy over the past few days my Grey (Charlie) has just started stripping his feathers on his tail and his left wing. I have no idea why he is doing this. We thought he was really contented up until now. He is only 7 months old!
Any one have any suggestions as it is breaking ours hearts to think that he might be unhappy or distressed!
Thanks Debs

The problem is that there can be all sorts of reasons for feather plucking/picking/stripping, some medical such as fungal or bacterial infections, allergies, or nutritional problems, and some psychological such as boredom or stress. This is what was previously discussed when it concerned tail feathers: vdnent.proboards41.com/index.cgi?board=GreyBehave&action=display&thread=1115410158You could try spraying with water and aloe vera in case the skin is itchy. Providing plenty of toys that can be chewed up might help. Jane
