I have always found it is best just to talk to them normally rather than trying to teach specific words. Mitzi picks up whatever she chooses and there are things that she has heard many times which she never repeats, while something she hasn't heard as often she does. I always tell them what I am giving them , what I am doing, where I am going etc. In the mornings when I go to get them up Mitzi says "Good morning", she says "bye bye" when I go out and "night night" at bed time. She has two favourite sayings at the moment: "Put the light on" and "What's going on?". Curiously, she has never picked anything up from the TV (which is probably just as well!) Monty doesn't talk at all and never has.

Hello,
What I've noticed with Tango is that she will only speak a word9s) that she wants. I no longer sit in front of her cage and repete words. I sit about 5 feet away and say things in DIFFERENT tones and when her head does the twist, I think she is interested in that tone. I then continue from 5 feet away to repete that word(s) in the same tone. Guest what, She now repetes almost everything I indirectly teach her.
