hi, Just a curiousity, sometimes Mina starts going round the cage. Does it mean that she's happy/playing, or nervous. She doesn't do it for a long time, therefore I am not conserned about it, however it's good to now.
Another thing, I read that when they scream, they need reassuring from ourselves. Mina starts to make all sorts of sounds. If we answer back, she stops. I was of the idea that when she makes these sounds, she makes them cause she's happy (just like when birds do their chirp chirp song). I have become somewhat confused after reading the article relating to their screams. Can any one advise please?

It is usual for them to explore the cage. Mine will climb up the bars, go over the roof (inside of) and climb back down again.
Greys in the wild call to their flock mates all the time and you are a flock mate so when you answer her she is reassured. She will still make noises at other times as well, and all this is normal.

Jane,
So you recon that I should answer her back all the time, or shall I allow her to train her beautiful voice. Everytime I answer, she stops.
Thanks a million

If she is calling you when you are out of the room you can answer her but otherwise she will just make the noises as she wants to and you don't have to answer her all the time. Monty makes a lot of noises but he will stop and listen if I talk to him. I think he just makes them for his own amusement. Mitzi is quieter but talks.

Eye contact also helps, so if you make eye contact with her from time to time she will relax a little bit more. It's part of the same flock behaviour that Jane was talking about, and is very comforting.
If Joshua is trying to get my attention, he waits for eye contact and then bobs his head up and down (as an acknowledgement of the eye contact, I think) before going back to whatever it was he was doing before he started contact calling.
As to going aorund the cage, Joshua does acrobatics in his. He walks around upside down, dangles by a couple of toes, laughs, and in general makes full use of all available surfaces.
