OMG!!!! Today was too funny! I just want to make sure its ok and that he was just being "ticked" at his toy...
Kenny was in his cage playing with one of his toys, and he started "growling" and screeching at it in a loud voice, he then walked past it and played with a different toy, wolf whistling at the different toy and cooing and clucking at it all the while looking over at that other toy...... He has not touched the other toy yet at all.
He does not act "afraid" of the toy at all, rather seems MAD at it and has played with it a lot until this, any ideas? Do I leave it or take it out?
I should mention that I have heard him growl a bit but never that loud or that much, mostly just little teeny tired/warning growls. They really do sound ticked off when they REALLY growl! I would not want that directed at me!!

Mine will sometimes do this to a toy. The poor toy suddenly needs a good beating up! I wouldn't worry about it, it sounds like he is just playing imaginative games.

I have a problem with jack and new toys in his cage. He doesn't like them hanging I guess. Everytime I try to put a new one in even if hanging on the side of the cage for a month he will climb down to the bottom of his cage and start scratching at it like a chicken.

Monty has never been like that about anything new but Mitzi is, although she is getting better. She tends to wait until Monty has tried them out and declared them to be safe before she will go near them.
They have a favourite toy hanging up in the cage and when they are in the right mood they will go up to it, one on each side, and fling it at each other.

That too funny!!!! And normal! I've read it's good for them to have a toy that they can "dominate" as they do have a "pecking order"...Zazzy's is... or WAS a little stuffed squirrel. Boy did he ever beat up that squirrel..it was funny to watch him!

For a while there, Joshua was in love and trying to mate with a green roll-on anti-perspirant bottle. After a while he began to hate it and now he attacks it if he sees it. I think he took its lack of response to his overtures very personally. I can't use it at all in front of him now! Also, if I have friends to stay, they can't wear slippers because he sees fuzzy things on feet as something to attack and mutilate. Lidia

That's so funny! Pearl has never been timid about anything new in her environment, actrually, she blew away that grey stigma for me. I was always careful to intoduce new things just so, but she doesn't seem to mind changes in her environment at all. Whenever I change her toys around or give her a new one, she instantly explores it and then goes back to normal. The funniest thing is that she loves to hang upside down off her rope and attack and scream at one of the toys near it. I am not sure why but that particular toy has rubbed her little feathers the wrong way--and yet she still seems to love to beat on it. The strangest thing, like an archnemesis I guess. Poor little beads on a string, they never had it coming. LOL. Another new habit is that she likes to take food items that I offer her and tear them up and throw them at me, and let me tell you, there's nothing wrong with that birds aim!

Silver is really funny with new things. If I try to put a new toy straight in she screams and throws herself to the bottom of her cage. I have to introduce things into the room first, then let her play with the toy out of her cage before I put it in!
Also I have a pair of fluffy slippers. If I walk past her wearing them she jumps on to my foot and hangs on with her beaks and claws!
