Ah Jane. I was thinking so much about you & michael this weekend. My uncle, who also had / has a brain tumour is on the slide down now. The tumour (1st manifested 15 years ago, surgery & readio therapy "removed" it came back 2 years ago, very aggressively, earlier this year, he started striking and fitting, and now, is in a hospital bed in vegitative state) is killing him, and causing us all great distress. i Really hope that it is different for you & michael, because, speaking from the slightly remotely involved perspective, its just so hard to keep on being positive for the immediately involved. I really am sending you what good wishes & energies I can. It's not a pleasant place to be in.

He is okay thanks, waiting for follow up appointments. He had 10 sessions of whole brain radiotherapy in November. He had to have a mask made which was not at all comfortable and after he had the last session they asked him if he wanted to take it home! He didn't.

All My Best thoughts continue your way.
I can see how he would not want to take it home.

Michael has been having some back pain. He had a CT scan which showed the lung and liver tumours are bigger, there is a new tumour on his adrenal gland, and a change in a lumbar vertebra which is thought to be a spread of the cancer. The consultant doesn't think more chemotherapy would be of help but he is going to speak to the clinical oncologist to see if radiotherapy for the spine would be useful.

Sorry to hear this. Michael should find an improvement with the radiation, a lot of our patients at work find that it helps.
