;D I went to Parrot Mountain in Pidgeon Forge, TN! What a wonderful place. They have an area where you can "feed the lories"...they give you a cup of nectar and when you walk in the lories just swarm you....it was so COOL! Every kind of bird imaginable is there. I highly recommend that if you are going to be anywhere near that area, pay them a visit!
We enjoyed it more than Dollywood!

I forgot to mention y'all. When we went on vacation to Pigeon Forge, we passed a pet store called "exotic pets"...well, we decided to go in and take a look around. First off the smell nearly made us faint! It stunk so bad in there. Then I made it back to the "bird room." Oh my gosh! I wanted to cry! There were numerous African Greys, Macaws & Cockatoos! they were all in cramped cages and get this....monkeys were in cages in the same room as the birds!
This place was filthy! The "bird room" was merely a room with a bunch of cages in it stuffed with birds. It made my heart sick! I couldn't sleep for thinking of those poor things. If anyone of you viewers is in that area of TN please go in and check this guy out.

Call your nearest SPCA and they will give you the # for the closest to him and complain. That'll get him!

Right on Preston, it is a shame that some people would treat God's creatures that way. I have heard of the Parrot Mountain and have wanted to go there. I have been wanting to go to Pigeon Forge to shop in all the outlet malls and a side trip to Parrot Mountain is a must. If I go and happen upon that exotic pets place I will check it out.

hello all, we recently went to hayle in cornwall and they have a paradise park which houses all types of birds and parrots you can possibly think of.our children fed the lorikeets with nectar and it was great.needless to say we never had much cash left afterwards at 50pence a pot.

Great photos. We went to a bird park once and there were various different birds but one in particular caught our eye. It was a penguin and it looked very sorry for itself, it was moping around looking forlorn, with its head down and making little wailing noises. These increased as I stroked it and we went off to find a member of staff, thinking it must be ill. As soon as I started to describe what had happened, the staff member laughed and said: "Oh that is Ace doing his party piece - he knows it gets him a lot of attention"!

My family and I visited Parrot Mtn. Oct 05 for the first time on my mother's suggestion. I had never been interested in birds before but she had gotten a little cockatiel a few months prior and I began to come around. We went to Parrot Mtn. out of respect for her and I left absolutely....positively.....HOOKED! I now have 2 african greys (Keenu and Sasha) and a blue-crowned conure (Ella) and have been dubbed the "Crazy Bird Lady" (jokingly of course) by my closest friends. This place is a definite must see for any bird lover. It's also very inexpensive for what you get to experience. Be prepared to stay and enjoy. My dad finally walked down a small hill to a picnic table and we have pics of him dozing b/c we stayed so long......Also check out the Bald Eagle Exhibit and the birdshow at Dollywood. They have a website but I'm not sure exactly what the address is but if you google it, I'm sure it will pull it up........I just joined today by the way so Hello and I look forward to all the insight and stories.....Thanks. ;D
