Has anyone ever heard of an eclectus called the Grand Eclectus. A pet store has one for sale. The price seemed high to me and when I mentioned to the clerk she said it is a Grand Eclectus, the larger of the eclectus parrots. Just checking this out. Please info needed!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as I know, there are 2 kind of Eclectus, the smaller Solomon Island and the larger Vosmaeri. The "Grand Eclectus" probably refers to the latter. Here's a good website that gives lots of info on Eclectus, primarily the Vos: www.landofvos.com/

Does anyone know how big a Grand Eclectus is compared to other parrots? I just need to know how big the bird gets and in reading 11 inches does nothing for me to visualize. Help please.

I saw a Vos once. If I remember correctly, he was about the size of a CAG. What I remember most about him was his beautiful coloring, and his LOUD screech.
