Went to the Bird Fair today and gees it was loaded with vendors and people. It was much bigger than the one that they have that's a bit nearer my home.
They had some real good deals so naturally I bought stuff. A couple of perches--a toy that fastens to the side of the cage and I bought my tiel some flavored millet seed. (I hope he'll eat it--otherwise the wild birds are gonna have a real treat). And a dvd called Bird Sitter. (I'm hoping this will quiet my tiel).
There were lotsa tiels, parakeets, lovebirds. finches, but as far as larger parrots there was only one female eclectus (that someone bought), and a cockatoo, (who wasn't for sale). Gees I never knew that tiels were so big !! My goodness my tiel is only half the size of the ones I saw there.
I started asking around as noone had any signs out, and found 2 people who have TAGs that are sitting on eggs. One of them is less than an hour away and the other is about 3 hours away. Actually they both seemed ok, but the lady that was 3 hours away seemed to be more knowledgeble. However the closer lady mentioned the name of the vet she uses and he is a very well know avian vet amongst parrot owners and PEAC and well-- it seems everyone knows him and he is quite far from here so knowing that she travels a great distance to take her birds to a competent vet makes me think that she really cares about her babies. So--I will be making phone calls in the next couple of days. Sadly it was very hard to carry on much of a conversation with either of them as the fair was soooo busy. The breeder that lives closer to me had so many people around her table because every one wanted to see the eclectus. (Oh yeah, the lady that bought the eclectus had gone there in hopes of purchasing a TAG but saw this red beauty and it was love at first sight).
Well gotta get to work now that I fooled around all day. Everyone is in a hurry for their refunds !!!!!
