There is a lady boarding her birds at the bird store and I was there today when she was there. Her Quaker was on a perch by me and he was talking to me and seemed rather friendly. I put my finger out and he stepped right up. To my surprise he bit me hard, I said ouch, he laughed and said "thats funny" and bit me again. Before I could put him down he bit me again. He has a weird sense of humor. Never trust a bird that seems too friendly.

That sounds like my Senegal, he pulls the ole bait and switcheroo. My sister and brother in law are nurses so I have a ton of 4-0 silk sutures for those happy occasions. I can't tell you how many stitches he has caused me to put in my fingers. That dang bird loves everything but me and an oven mit! He is a clown so ya gotta lov'em.

He does like the drama of it. He lives with a Grey and a B&G Macaw and he is the loudmouth of the bunch. He tells the Grey to speak and the Grey barks like a dog. He rules the roost.

LOL. My one quaker, Kiwi, is a super friendly one, but, at times when she's had enough, she'll bite. It's not too hard and doesn't break the skin, but, immediately after biting, she'll say, "Ow, don't bite" and then laugh.

Rosebud does the bite, laugh and run on me too.... When she is not in the mood to play she bites me, runs inside her cage and laughs and says go on get.... She is a trip.... My Sun is the same way.... It is usually when they do not want to be bothered. With Rosey it is also when Sean comes over....

Pete would come to my desh and put his hed down hard enough to hear his beak hit to gain attention. I'd look him and he'd be looking me in the eye. I'd say "no, all you want to do is bite me", and he'd whisper "I'm a good boy", I'd give in and go for the pet and wham, I get nailed. No blood but just the shock. He would scamper up the ladder to his cage saying "no biting" and "don't bite me" the little poop. The cockatiels don't bite, but Romeo the senegal will take so much meat away it would take months to heal, that's the reason I put 2 or 3 stitches in. I'm the only one he bites that hard, and I have never done anything to him. My wife thinks he's jealous of Pete an Is' relatiomship. I just stay clear. I have to put something in his cage to attack (toilet paper tube) while I tend to his bowls.

Preston, Why don't the cockatiels bite? Emil never did till Lilly came and they paired up. Cody does and then chatters when hes mad at ya for something. Like the phone on his human perch. and ect.
