I took Congo and Lucky to the vet today. They both checked out fine. Congo got her feet bandaged for her problem with her toes and the vet said she will be fine in a week. Lucky was examined for her plucking and the vet found clogged preen glands. He applied a hot water compress and was able to get the glands flowing. He said that was the cause of her plucking. I have been spraying Lucky every day with Canopy bath spray and she is growing some new feathers. The vet said she should be fully feathered in 6 months. The vet wanted to do polyoma vaccinations but I said no, its $26.00 for each one, my bill was already $206.50. He said there was no need to quarantine Lucky from Congo and Rosy. He said when birds were imported to the U.S. before 1993 there were more problems with the spread of disease but now its not a problem. I also ordered DNA sexing of Congo.

I read that post about vaccinations and thats why I chose not to. I told the vet that I wasn't sure if either of them had it so I would wait to see. From what I read about Polyoma if a baby bird get it it will die ... well my birds are not babies so they must be OK.
