Well, it's time. BoBo has been doing so well that I have decided that it is time to bring in another rescue/foster (much to my fiances chagrin). I have recently been contacted in regards to 2 very special Lovebirds that need a tremendous amount of work. One was raised in an aviary and is completely untame...the other is tamer but badly and permanently handicapped. I have been asked to take them on and do my best to make them adoptable...with the caveat that if I end up loving them I can keep them. So, I love a challenge and Im pretty excited about this, however, I need to put a couple questions out there before I say yes. I have heard but never witnessed, that AG's are known to pick small birds out of the air and rip them apart (eeeewww...)and that they are generally VERY agressive with most small birds. Comments? Thoughts? Does anybody have peacefully cohabitating AG and small birds? Is this something that I can work on with him or should I forego it all together? Is BoBo going to turn into a lurking predator or will he appreciate the company of little guys even if they always stay separated?? For all you Lovebird owners and lovers out there...any feedback and advice would be appreciated

The only agression I saw in Pete with my smaller birds i.e. 1 Senagal 4 Cockatiels was if they got on or into his cage. It is fun to hear them all together after the flock has bonded. BoBo would enjoy the company so you'll most likely keep them!

Boo dont seem to be bothered by the smaller birds ( QP's & cockatiel) unless they all are on the sofa, then he tries to let them know that hes the boss...

Boo and my bare eyed cockatoo will have beak battles if they are on the play stand, then the next min the bare eyed got his head down for the other to preen him...

So, the lovies are home now and settled in nicely.
Sarah - Australian Cinnimon Orangfaced Lutino The prettiest lovie that I have ever seen! Her face isn't peach but her beak is and it fades to a very, very light pink over her face and on her cheeks...the perfect blush! She looks like and overgrown canary. In flight you can see an irridecent mint green under her tail.
Nippy and an accomplished flyer. Cage protective (I'll break her!) and vocal...I think she might just be a talker in progress. She is most definitely the alpha. Missing main talon/toe tip on one foot.
Molly - Peach Faced Incredible aqua/sea foam green colour with bright blue accents and a very light peach/pink face. Feathers in bad shape but new flight feathers are looking healthy so some good nutrition and a couple months will do her some good.
Sweet, adorable and a chronic human licker! (what's with that?). One completely usless foot due to an accident with a dog and is now twisted and clubbed. Foot possibly needs amputating...will check with vet tomorrow, Im concerned that gangrene is setting in...
She is a little too docile for my liking...overall health is suspect...we'll see!
Both are female and incedibley devoted to each other. They do share a cage. I understand that housing 2 f/lovies can be a big risk but so far these girls are a-ok together. Will I come across problems as they age or do you think that they are bonded for life?
Just curious...and it was a good opportuntiy to say "yay!!! I got new babies!!!!" ;D
