Well the day I thought would never come finally arrived! We've named him/her Georgie and he's adorable. According to the hatch certificate he's 13 1/2 weeks old, I thought he was younger. He's a very capable flyer and when the breeder opened the cage he took off round the room! He seems to be settling in nicely, One question, the breeder fed him with a syringe, she said I could try feeding him with a spoon, the thing is he makes a low growl and throws his head back and I'm not sure whether he's afraid of the spoon or he's not sure how to eat from it and is waiting for me to put it down his throat....well what a mess, poor thing was covered in it. He's let me put my hand in the cage and stroke his chest and beak and although he hasn't moved around a great deal he has been chewing one of his toys.
He's certainly doesn't seem to be very nervous and even when the kids have slammed doors and approached rather quickly he doesn't bat an eye. I think it was love at first sight for all the family!

Cingratulations !! Please keep posting as your baby grows. I have learned so much just by reading other peoples post, I know it will help me when I get my baby.
I can't believe that so many of you are getting TAGs and its taken me months just to find a breeder !!

Congratulation! I was wondering if you had picked your baby up yet. Can't wait to see Georgie's picture.
There certainly are a lot of TAGs being bought at this board. And speaking of TAGs, I better get mine to bed. He's sitting on top of his cage falling asleep.

Georgie sounds gorgeous, post photos soon! If he has never been fed with a spoon before, then he probably doesn't know whether it will attack him or be nice to him. If you're having difficulty with the spoon-feeding, then get yourself a big syringe (about 500ml) and feed him with that. He should be beginning to be weaned now, in any event, so you might feed him normal food from your hand to get him used to it. Lidia

Congratulations. They do tend to be nervous of things they are not sure about and can give a low growl or sometimes a crackle. I am glad to hear he is settling in.
