Hi guys Need some advice here please. We brought Jo home on Saturday and she has been great, eating, drinking, stepping up etc. We have bought a play stand for her and she sits on it fine. The problem is she has started to fly around the living room not really knowing where to land. We are worried that she will be injured if this continues. Any advice would be appreciated. Does this mean We need to have her wings clipped ? Thanks again Vance , Lynn & Jo

Joshua is unclipped and is an an expert aviator. He flies through partially closed doors by turning his body, and he manages to turn tight corners easily, although my flat is tiny. Once Jo is used to your home, she will know where to land more easily. In the meantime, perhaps you could place something obvious that she can make emergency landings on (like wooden chairs, etc) about the place. She probably cannot make those steep banking turns yet. They take such a joy in flying, that I feel since she is already flying, it would be frustrating to take it away from her. If you do get her clipped, be certain to get it done properly so she can still glide a little, otherwise she will crash and could easily hurt herself. Lidia

Hi
I had Sweeties wings clips, but just part of 10 feather on each side, she can still fly, but only short distances, and this make me feel much better, as I don't want her to hurt herself. It also took me a while to decide on what to do, but if you read back in the past post there are plenty interesting info on wing clipping. Also take her to a Good Vet, one of my friend had her parrots wings clipped and they cut of the feathers and now the bird is aggressive, and it don't look to good.
