Hello everyone, thank you for your recent help. Deano went for a check up about him plucking and was/is fine. It was probably down to boredom, as he's done it before. He thankfully has stopped now and feathers are beginning to grow back. We are really pleased at how quickly he has adapted to being with us, he has already decided I am his new friend and my partner is the one to be bitten. He is not at all intimidated by our dogs Ruby the rottweiler and Daisy the Yorkie, he shouts at them to get out or lie down !!! I have read through hundreds of postings on here to learn as much as I can. May I congratulate you all on a great forum. ;D I have ordered a pediperch because I don't want to put him through the torment of the vet unless he's ill. I have bought him new toys. I was anxious about giving them to him because I'd read that Grey's can be a bit neurotic, but fair play to him he was very fast destroying a dragonfly foot toy. Finally I am trying my best not to let him perch on my shoulder, if he does manage to get there he is very reluctant to 'step up'. I have read some of the horror stories and don't wish to be bitten on the face. Thanks again for your help, this forum looks very friendly and I'm looking forward to posting on here. Amanda

You read about how distressing plucking can be but I dont suppose you realise until you experience it for yourself. Really glad the feathers are growing back.
You may recall that my boy, Mylo, had a plucking session due to a dermititus but he is now successfully (touch wood) growing a beautiful 'set' of new feathers. In the words of the bulldog off Tom and Jerry... 'Thats my boy' .. !!!!
