Ok, I've got to ask... I've read many topics on here where a few of you have mentioned that you work at home and get to spend the day with your grey. I'm graduating from highschool this year, going to college without a clue on what I want to do, and it would be a dream job to spend the day with my grey.

Some kind of Engineering or Design work will allow you to use your home computer and FTP the final product to the companies server. You may have to show up 1 day a week for a meeting. I've done this several times over the years, and found that someone in a higher position gets jealous and stops it. I would spend sometimes 16 hours a day on a project sitting here where I could tend to my own affairs also. I was made to come to the office and only spent 8 per day. They got concerned at the slow down, and deadlines got pushed out. When asked by a higher up "what happened", I simply told them that progress was slower than at home, needless to say I got sent home till the next jerk came along. Warning, it is hard to find a company to allow this. You may find the others that post are self-employed os semi such. Advice: Go for liberal arts while deciding on a major, at least you will not be wasting credits that will not apply to your BA or BS.

Yup...my bosses just don't get that I am at least 3x as productive at home as I am at work...Im in the office everday for appearances only. I suggest that whatever you decide to do you also take business courses along side...being self-employed is the only way to make money AND work from home...unless you are an engineer that is

Gee, I guess I'm that "jack of all trades" person. I do bookkeeeping in my house. I prepare income tax forms (federal state and city taxes here in Ohio and something I've done for over 40 years now). Sometimes things come up with my clients where they need my assistance, (sometimes in their offices part-time, and sometimes just extra work that I can do at home ), some may just need help with estimated taxes. I also provide services such as typing, and this past year actually had someone give me their business cell phone which I answered at my home, and set appts up---. I have also done marketing with items such as cell phones, long distance service, pagers, websites, satellite tv, beauty products, etc. ( Please don't get the wrong idea--the company I was with was one of few which did not like us to make random calls like you all get at dinner time. I worked totally off of lists of people who had submitted interest in one of our products--no cold calls whatsoever). Earlier today I contacted one of the cities and may work seasonal part-time for them in the finance department processing and collecting city taxes.

I do squat. Actually, I have health issues that prevent me from getting a real job. I'm 30, and still haven't gotten through college because of all the breaks from being sick.
But I do make some money here and there with odd jobs. Mainly I dogsit. I made $300 over the holidays by watching 2 yorkies for 10 days. Dog sitting requires me to stay at the dog's house though, so I saw very little of Nikko during that time. And the little yappers were pains in the butt at night (trying to sleep on my head, wrestling each other at 3 in the morning on my back, barking at every little sound). Man, it was good to get home.

I am a mechanic and worked at a Ford dealership until 12/09/05. I am out of work now with a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder. I am waiting for workers comp. to approve surgery on my shoulder and after that I will be out of work for about 5 months. So now I get to spend every day with my birds for a while at least.

I work with a group of urban high school students in assisting with getting ready for college. They are students who don't have much chance to go to college for any number of reasons, inlcuding money. My husban works in plastics (he makes the cups you pee in and scrip bottles, mostly for military) as a supervisor for a non-profit organization for the blind. I would love to be a domestic goddess and spend all my time with my flock, pack, and family. Unfortunately, I hate cleaning house, but have done better since getting my Phoenix. Our other flock members have benefited greatly along with the rest! I am exhausted! Good luck with college!! I loved it!! Do not decide on a major until you are ready. I didn't decide officially until my 2nd year then got a degree in Psychology. Went back later to become a high school teacher (ended up in middle school ). I sometimes miss that but am much happier now!

I wanted to be a high school teacher- a math teacher, mainly because I just happen to be really good at it, or a P.E. teacher- so that I could also be a cheerleading coach. It wasn't until about three months ago, upon finishing my college applications, that the thought of being a vet blindsided me. My house is a jungle, always has been, and I love it. I just thought it would be awesome to work in the same environment which I live.
