I was wondering if it's typical for a bird to get hung up on certain words/phrases? For about a week and a half, Nikko has said, "Eat your food" and "Bird/Birdie" about 50 million times a day. He knew how to say these things when he came to live with us a couple months ago (although "eat your food" was a bit garbled), so it's curious about why he suddenly really likes to say these things ALL THE FREAKING TIME . I kid . I enjoy hearing him talk, but it would be nice if he tossed in a different phrase now and again.

yes it is normal, thats why the come up with thing we don't know where they got them. We forgot but they never do. It will cycle around to different phrases the like with an new one fit in sideways. Comparing your bird to say Einstein is apples to oranges because she was trained professionally in a clinical situation. We have them as pets so they repeat what they like, and often what we don't want them to repeat; like a two year old!

i think when Boo figures out he can talk, im going to have the most foul mouthed political bird known, my other half fogets sometimes that hes got learning listening ears sitting right beside him when he watches the news and gets all worked up...... if he has his way, boo is going to learn that GW Bush is # 1.......

Like Traci said, sometimes all of that and then tell the dog to go lay down or whistle for them to come here. A million things are possible, that's why they are so entertaining.

Yea Bush is #1 but I'd have to ban myself explaining that. Hmmmmm, can I ban myself? Hahaha, I can't commit forum suicide. I can't ban myself!

Yes, Mitzi has crazes of saying the same thing over and over again. "What's going on?" is a favourite and "Put the light on".

Joshua gets hung up on phrases and words. No matter how many words your AG knows, they will almost always use the ones that amuse them most. Joshua's favourites have been "What?" and "Quack quack" for quite a while. Lidia

Hey!
Just signed up yesterday!
Mine is funny in that he mixes up his words sometimes. Makes for interesting sentences!
He copies my husband's voice mostly, so it's whatever he's saying.

Hello Jill, welcome to the forum. Mitzi puts her own words together sometimes as well but it usually involves household appliances for some reason.
