Any thoughts on using coconut oil or olive oil?

Here is what Manzi's beak looks like. So is this amount of peeling normal? He is only a year old. I couldn't figure out how to add the picture, sorry.

As long as the beak isn't chipping it's normal. My grey is coming up on being a year old and his beak is flaking. It's normal.

I have found with Scarlet (10) and Justice (2) that around the same time as they molt, their beaks tend to look more ragged and the layers are more evident. Justice esspecially. He spends most of his time on his perch (seen in avatar). He doesn't really have anything but the shower perch to "file" his beak with. Scarlet spends her time on her powder coated cage and after each meal she rubs her beak on the cage helping to keep it smooth and manicured. Also Justice's nails get long really fast (Scarlet doesn't have all her nails), so I purchased a cement type swing for him. I wanted to get one of those rough type perches for his cage but he is TERRIFIED of sticks. If it connects from one side to the other in his cage he is fine, but a stick of any kind and he flips out completely. So the swing was my only option...that was a montho ago. I have yet to be able to put it anywhere near him. He is scared of that too so I am working with him on that at the moment. I know once he gets over his fears he will love it! And the beak and nails won't be such a problem.
