Karen, We all need to be responsible parrot owners and spread news like this so others will know. If places like this are reported enough times then something will be done. We also need to educate non parrot people and help them understand the plight of these parrots. Parrots out live all other pets and people too so there are more without homes every day. The number of homeless parrots will grow as long as aviaries keep breading in large numbers. I have 2 re homed birds now and I am sure I will have more.

The pictures on that site are horrid, all those poor birds living in filth. I tried to find more information, and found that the birds were supposed to be transferred to the Gabriel Foundation (a reputable bird rescue), but before it could happen, the lady packed up the birds and split. They're still looking for her, and figure she will start up her "bird rescue" again somewhere else.

I am a vet student at Washington State University, and we are working closely to try to close this place down. When and if it does happen, there will be 800 birds looking for foster homes. If you or anyone you know is willing to help, please email me. I don't know anything right now in the way of details, except that last I heard, this concentration camp is still up and running.
Thanks, Elly

Hopefully bird rescues across the nation will be able to help out, because I don't see how Washington could handle fostering 800 birds alone. If any of them make their way down to Arizona (maybe at Tucson Avian Rescue and Adoption), I might be able to foster. I say "might" because, technically, I'm still fostering Nikko for TARA, and they have some rules about taking in new birds when you already have a TARA bird in your home.

I am sitting here irritated, angry and in tears. That is horrible that anyone would treat a animal like that.... I have 3 rescued birds and one adopted and would not think twice about fostering one of those precious animals....

SH, I just saw your post about fostering Nikko. You've had the bird forever and your still under the microscope? That is nothing more than abuse of the animal and the caring human. If they imposed that kind of scrutany o
