I have a 26 year old Timneh named Tucson. I have had him since he was a baby. Recently I have noticed him falling off his perch more at night, especially when we are watching TV (his cage is in the living room). Is this due to old age? He is acting normal otherwise, eating well and being himself but I fear he is going to break a blood feather or have a heart attack! I am going to place a perch low, but he is terrified of anything new to his cage so I must introduce anything new very slowly. Thoughts?

Hello and welcome to the forum. It is hard to say really as he is otherwise okay. Low calcium can cause it.

Welcome to the forum.
When Chyloe was young, a blood test showed that her calcium level was low and the vet suggested that we add broccoli to her diet. She has broccoli every day and subsequent blood tests show normal calcium levels. She has blood tests every two years. You might try that.

Thank you! I will add broccoli to his diet and watch him. He hasn't fallen since and i think it may be from clipping his nails last week.
