A 70 year old Laysan Albatross has had another chick, possibly her 40th. Wisdom lives in the Midway Atoll national wildlife refuge on an island in the North Pacific and was first tagged by researchers in 1956 when she was thought to be five years old. She has outlived a number of mates and her current one is Akeakamai. She is the world's oldest wild bird. Laysan Albatrosses usually live for 12 to 40 years.

Wow. I guess they don’t have a limit on fertility.

This is such an amazing story. I've been following this bird for a while. A true survivor.
