Manzi isn't anywhere close to being able to go outside in the aviary, but Maui still likes to go, so I put out for a few hours every day by herself. Today, I mentioned on our city's webpage that we have too many lemons and a couple volunteered to come pick them for us and share them with their neighbors.
They were absolutely delighted to find a parrot in the backyard talking and whistling to them the entire time. Maui was just as cheerful to have some interested company.
When we have gatherings (seems like a past life now), I don't put the birds in the aviary cause it is just too much for them to be outside with all the people/kids running around. But a couple people come over to the backyard, and the parrots take the center stage.
Since Manzi's health issues, Maui has definitely not been her usual self and is definitely quieter. Manzi was always the brave one (and loud one) between the two of them. So it is nice to see her shine a bit on her own.

They got an extra treat when they came to pick lemons! It is nice Maui was happy to see them too and they all had an enjoyable interaction.

That is great that she interacted with the visitors. It is always funny when non-bird people hear a bird talking.
Last year when we had a new stove delivered, one of the deliverymen saw Chy and went up to her. We had her locked up during the delivery. He stood there whistling to her. She just watched him. When he stopped whistling, she said, "Well, are you going to say hello?" He was flabbergasted.

Wow, Haz. That's amazing!!
With my birds, often people don't realize it is the birds talking. They here a human voice, and think someone is around. Like I have random guys placed around the house/yard making small talk when they least expect it.
