Sleep means healing, the eating is the best news ever, and he can relax at home with the family. So happy to hear this.

Manzi seems to have stabilized. He's eating and drinking. His balance is still way off though. I'm going to try another vet to see if she has any other ideas. She might be able to have a zoom meeting with me.

That's good he has stabilized.
I am wondering if he has had a stroke?

He's still on anti inflammatory medicine and antibiotics. I have 10 day's worth of those medications. I give him his medicine twice per day, mashing it up with food and he eats it all up.
He could have had a stroke, brain damage from hitting his head, brain damage from eating something toxic or some kind of bacterial infection. I'm still not sure.
The vet recommended against steroids.

It's good that he has stabilized. I hope the new vet comes up with something useful.

Manzi is more and more alert every day. Today I bought him some new, little toys, and he spent 30 minutes or so playing with them before drifting off back to sleep. When I first brought him home from the hospital, he spent most of the day asleep. Now he stays awake for longer periods each day.
I just bought a soft rope perch that I'll put on the floor of the crate against the towel, but hopefully he can start using that to regain his standing strength.

Manzi's been really flinchy since I got him back from the hospital. So any movements that aren't incredibly slow, seem to scare him. But he's been calming down more and more and today, he let me scoop him up for the first time since being back. I held him for just a sec, and then was able to move him a bit to clean up his crate. Anyway, it warmed my heart a bit.
He was so threatened while lost, and then while at the hospital. It is more than upsetting to see the affects of the ordeal he must have been through.

That is good to hear he is getting better day by day. Maybe his eyesight has been affected and that is why he flinches at sudden movements. I have often wondered about Monty's eyesight as he sometimes doesn't appear to see things and also flinches sometimes.

Yeah, I was wondering about the eyesight as well. I know he can see, but maybe his ability to focus was damaged and that is why he startles/flinches.
When I first got him back, I noticed his pupils were huge, even in light conditions. They are still larger than normal, but are getting smaller and closer to regular sized.
