I do my housework on Saturdays and always leave Chyloe locked up so I don't have to watch for stepping on her while vacuuming and washing the floors.
She doesn't like being locked up. Yesterday took me longer because of a silly neighbour. He came over while I was working and said he thought he had a bird in the rafters that must have got in though an air vent. Of course, he needed me to go get it. As soon as I walked in the door, I said that it sounded like a dying battery for a smoke or carbon monoxide detector. He insisted that it was a bird. After checking all visible alarms in the house, I narrowed it down to a corner of the kitchen but couldn't see an alarm there. The garage was on the other side of that wall so I went to see if it was in there but I couldn't hear it there so it had to be in the kitchen.
After all that searching, it turned out to be a water sensor under the dishwasher put there in case of a leak. The neighbour then said, "I told you it was a bird". He was the silly goose!
Doing that made me late finishing the cleaning so when I went to open Chy's cage door, she lunged at me and chomped my finger. Then she had the audacity to sweet-talk me and bent her head for a scratch. I told her she had to wait until I took care of the dripping blood. She thinks she could abuse me then I would love her more. I don't think so.

Our Greys like everything to go their way. I sometimes wonder if they don't realise how hard they are biting or they do realise too late.
I had a power cut yesterday morning and I could hear a faint beeping. It turned out to be the cordless phone handsets beeping because they couldn't locate the base unit.
