If I find any creatures such as spiders and wasps in the house I catch them and release them into the garden. It is interesting to observe their behaviour for a while though; they all behave the same.
I catch them in the usual way with a container and a piece of card. They all walk methodically round the perimeter of the container, feeling it with their little feet. When they realise they can't get out the spiders sometimes climb up into the container and make a web.
I know wasps chew up wood to make paper to build their nests. Recently I caught a Queen wasp who, after a lot of exploring round the container, decided she could perhaps eat her way out by burrowing through the piece of card and she proceeded to try and chew it up. Her jaws were opening wide and scraping over the card.

Wow!! That is really nice of your to release everything outside. Was the queen wasp able to tear the card at all?
When I was a kid, I did like to feed spiders in the garden insects to watch how they went and wrapped them up.
Are you ever afraid the wasps will sting you when you let them out? I've been stung lots of times by wasps and it hurts a fair amount. It has always been when they've flown just inside my collar or shirt sleeve, and not paying much attention, I feel something and try brushing them away. Then they sting several times.

I swapped the card for a laminated piece when I saw what she was doing. I didn't want her to waste a lot of energy trying to get out.
I have a technique for releasing the creatures - I put the whole thing on the ground, then remove the container at arms length. They can actually be reluctant to go and then I have to give them a bit of a nudge!
