After the success with the stainless steel pan clacker toy which they both play with a lot, I got them a stainless steel bell. Monty loves bells and already has two different ones.
So far they have both completely ignored it - no interest, no fear, nothing. It is quite a strange reaction.

Chy has a steel bell. She played with it when when it was new but has ignored it for a long time.

It somehow fell in the water bowl last night. I didn't hear or see it happen but Mitzi was on the way towards the water to dip a Nutriberry when she suddenly stopped with a look of horror on her face, causing me to investigate what the problem was.
I removed the bell from the bowl but Mitzi still wouldn't go near it. I had to take the bowl out, put fresh water in and then replace it and explain to her that the bell had gone. She was so funny, she gingerly sidled towards the bowl and then stopped, then she sidled a bit nearer until she finally plucked up the courage to dip the Nutriberry in the water.

I am so satisfied when I see Beaker hanging upside down attacking his bell.
It reassures me that he is a happy bird.

Jane, that is hilarious!!!
Manzi used to attack his toys so aggressively that he used to regularly have battle injuries on his face. That was when he was 1-8 years old or so. He's definitely stopped being quite so goofy. He does occasionally still fight his toys, but it is more like once a month, rather than once per hour.
