Monty and Mitzi have both been getting amorous - not to each other but to me. For some reason the process of cleaning the cage seems to set them off. It was Monty on Sunday and Mitzi today.
It is sad really because they both make such an effort in their displays, the little squeaky noises, the wings held out in such a particular way, but nothing can come of it.

Chy was regurgitating for me yesterday. I told the silly girl to cool it.

Monty actually displayed to Mitzi tonight. He has never done that before. Mitzi was eating at the time and she just kept on eating and taking no notice of Monty right next to her. She became very interested in the contents of her food bowl until he gave up!

Monty displayed to Mitzi again last night. This time she just stood looking at him until he stopped and then she moved away.

Sounds like an old married couple even though they were never mates.

I was just going to post on this topic, then saw your thread. After 10 years together and moving from hate to tolerate, tonight both Manzi and Maui are displaying mating behaviors to each other. I've had them separated in their indoor cage, so they are just displaying through the bars. I would never have guessed they'd do this. Their love languages are different though. Maui is asking for head scratches while Manzi's busy throwing up to impress her.
Prior to this, they've often talked to each other, but they've never shown any kind of affection.

Monty displays and regurgitates to me, to Mitzi and sometimes to toys.
Mitzi has never displayed to Monty, only to me. She has been very intense recently. She regurgitates too.

Monty was doing it again last night and Mitzi was making a big show of eating and rummaging around in her food bowl. Monty's wings were spread out and he was facing her. Mitzi tilted her head to look at one of his wings and then tilted her head the opposite way to look at his other wing. It was almost as if she was saying: "What are you doing?" She carried on eating for a while and then moved away, leaving Monty displaying to an empty perch.

Haha, that's kinda funny and kinda sad. My two were both displaying yesterday again to each other as well. I moved the divider and then they very briefly even preened each other. That made my heart nearly stop to see their beaks so close to each other as I know the kind of damage they can do. It only lasted a couple minutes, then they went back to doing their own thing.

Monty has always had problems with his feet but watching him displaying to Mitzi was interesting, his little feet making these definite and quite precise movements backwards and forwards along the perch.

Oh dear! Having been spurned by Mitzi, last night Monty decided a cardboard tube on the floor of the cage might be a suitable mate. He didn't get anywhere with that either because it kept rolling around.
