I thought this was interesting: phys.org/news/2018-11-goffin-cockatoos-tools.htmlNow, Ruby will make tools all the time, although they are almost always to use to scratch her neck. I caught her the other day breaking a plastic knife and using the smaller piece for a delicious neck scratch. Maybe I should enroll her @ Harvard.

Chy is too lazy to make a neck scratching tool. She just comes up to one of us and bends her head which tells us she wants a neck scratch. Hubby must give better scratches than me. She makes a cooing noise when he does it.

Mitzi doesn't make tools. Monty will put his head in a bell so that the clapper scratches his head but I don't think that counts!

Sheeba also uses the clapper in her bell to scratch her neck. Whenever a large feather is pulled out or falls, she grabs it and used the quill end to scratch her neck, also. Manfred used to do that as well.
