I watered the lemon tree and one came out and was trying to get on the apple tree so I bent a branch and it climbed aboard.
I guess they see enough of me not to fear me now.

Rey2 will start eating again now. Apparently they stop eating for a few days before shedding.

I spotted one today in my orange tree.
I also found aphids so there should be plenty for it to eat.

I think I prefer my frozen, leafless trees. I am not very fond of those bugs.

Your orange tree is a Praying Mantis family tree!

I was examining my orange tree for any mantis as the egg sack never produced any.
As I was looking, a mantis appeared, about an inch long.
I also noticed the spider webs have started to disappear.
Great to see the tree being "guarded" again.

It must be that time of year again. Perhaps there will be more for sentry duty.

Went out looking today and I found three! Looks like two females and one male.
There are no bugs in the trees, I wonder why........

I was wondering about that.
I was watching an episode of the latest David Attenborough documentary the other night and a female had eaten the head of her suitor but the headless male was still able to mate with her. Apparently it provides extra protein for her eggs.

I went out this morning and couldn't find the male, or any pieces of him.
However one of the females was smoking a cigarette.............
