Ash has recently started to bite my wife a lot. If Ash gets on the ground when she goes to pick her up she'll bite. If Ash is on her cage she'll bite. Today she went to pick Ash up and she bit her, when she got her up and went to put her on her cage she bit her again. This is new, maybe it is age and hormones, she is approaching age 13, but it is becoming a real problem. Nothing has changed in terms of our house, my wife's appearance or anything like that.
What do you do with a pet you love who keeps hurting the one you love?

It is difficult if she suddenly started biting. Does she normally favour one of you over the other? It sounds like she has got annoyed with your wife for some reason and is associating her with something. Has Ash been showing any sort of nesting activity recently - it could be hormonal.

Have you tried enticing her with her favorite treats when you pick her up? Not sure what to tell you to do, but eventually I think it will pass. Sheeba is very predictable, she bites everybody. But if you are brave and not afraid, she will eventually stop biting. She bites me hard enough to draw blood about once a month, still.

My son suffered this treatment for at least 4 years.
Beaker would attack and bite until finally my son told him he wasn't going to be a chew toy.
That it was not his idea of interacting or fun.
He flat out ignored him and would walk away.
Being "flock" ingrained, Beaker finally figured it out that if he wanted my son's company, he had to stop with the aggression.
Beaker has turned 180 degrees.
My son can literally put his fingers in his beak and he doesn't get bit.
Beaker also has learned my son has no interest in eating him, just play.
WIN WIN.
