We are so excited to announce our baby grey came home today! We haven't had DNA done yet for the sexing.. But regardless of what it turns out to be, we will love it just the same! It makes naming it quite the challenge and we might just hold off until we get that done. There were 3 chicks in the clutch & we choose the middle chick, figuring the smallest should have a nest mate for a little longer. It has a great attitude and adores Sean (aka Daddy)! It does a nice job with eating, too, but he/she is just a tad messy. Too cute, too stinkin' cute. We bought a brooder bulb & clip light, but the dang bulb doesn't work so for now we're using a heating pad to maintain tempurature in the "nest". I'll get that fixed tomorrow.. (Errands on Monday, I think not!). Enjoy pictures! We will start a thread/add to the picture section frequently.. It's a new baby! And we're oogling! Charleigh & Sean imgur.com/gallery/6sN8t

Those photos bring back memories. Grey babies are adorable.
As far as messy goes, get used to it. They are always messy no matter how old they get. My two-year-old grandson likes to grab a broom and say that he is going to clean up Chyloe's mess.

Adorable!!
How old is your Grey? He is still a little baby! They get feathers quick though. I brought my guy home at 7 weeks and he wasn't fully feathered quite yet (but he had a lot more feathers than your guy). Also, he was still sleeping fully laying out on the ground. The first time I saw that, I thought he was dead, then he showed me his irritation at being woken up. It wasn't till 9 weeks or so that he started sleeping perched.
Are you having to do around the clock feeding? I still fed my guy mash/formula and it is really messy. Once they eat pellets, it is messy, but something that can be swept up, rather than having to be washed off.
