Oh dear! That is not what we wanted to hear. How long will it be until the next round of tests?

Several weeks. They will be done at separate times and then I will get another follow up appointment for the results.

Thank you everyone. I was told that testing positive for bird antigens doesn't necessarily mean that the parrots are causing the problem but until it has been ruled out I am still wearing a mask when I clean the cage and also I can't kiss Monty and Mitzi or nuzzle them. I really miss that.

I don't know really. I seem to vary from day to day. I had a High Resolution CT scan on 22nd November and I am going for more breathing tests on 29th.

I had more pulmonary function tests, mostly the same ones as last time plus another different one. The different one was carried out because it is a more reliable version of one of the ones I had last time but the results were much the same, so there is a problem with my lungs but they still don't know exactly what is causing it.

So sorry to hear about your lung problems. Has the pain been manageable? How have the birds been dealing with it? I hope they figure this out soon!!

Have they tried putting you on a medication such as Advair to open up your airways to treat your symptoms until they find out the cause?

I don't have pain anymore apart from the odd twinge but my chest doesn't feel right. The parrots are missing their cuddles. I have been keeping them at arms length, literally, and Mitzi in particular can't understand why she isn't getting her cuddles. The medics are still saying they don't think it is connected to the parrots but they also say that having parrots won't be helping the situation.
I haven't been offered any medication yet but I think the medics are still consulting about the various results.
