Chy was sitting on my arm when something startled her. She dug in her nails while flapping her wings. As a result, she left holes in my arm. I told her that she had left holes in my arm and she said, "I'm sorry".
I held her on her back on my knee while hubby used the dremel on her. At first she gripped each foot so tightly that it was hard to file each claw. Once she realized that the vibration wasn't hurting her, she relaxed her toes. All the while, she was swearing at us. She makes up her own curses as we don't swear. This time she was saying, "Poo on you".
Now it is over, she is sitting on me without perforating my skin and no swearing.

I think they understand when something needs to be done. I have to dremel Monty's beak regularly and as soon as he sees the fleece he gets wrapped in he starts protesting but he is very good once it is happening and afterwards he moves his beak around as if testing the new improved streamlining.

Beaker understands when the trip to the groomer is happening, but he waits till she opens his cage to throw his fit.
It always ends up the same, him red faced and panting.
The first time he sulked for the whole day, made me feel like a heel for taking him.
Now I think he throws his fit just because it is expected!
I would rather he hate the groomer then me.
