Mitzi likes having several Nutriberries in the evenings. Always in her cage as she won't eat them outside of the cage. She doesn't ask for them by name but by making a little chirruping noise. Last night I heard one fall on the floor of the cage and then the little chirrup asking for another. I told her there was one on the floor, pointed to where it was and refused to give her another one, despite her protests. A few minutes later I saw her sheepishly climbing back up to her perch with the Nutriberry in her beak.

Jane Jane they think they are so sneaky, I get so much enjoyment watching them , almost can 'see' them thinking out situations. Mitzi thought at that time 'Oh if I have to !!!!' and down she went after that nutriberry.

When I lecture Beaker I tell him that I know he can talk and I know he can understand me (it is a game I play).
I tell him to quit staring at me with the "stupid" look like he doesn't understand.

Mitzi thought at that time 'Oh if I have to !!!!' and down she went after that nutriberry. African Greys are very smart, and they can be quite sneaky, to boot! On a couple of occasions, Aziza just flew away suddenly (in my apartment, of course, with no windows or door to the hallway open!), and I couldn't find her. On one occasion, she'd flown into my kitchen, and there she was, quietly sitting on my glass-topped stove (which wasn't on). Since she's so close to the color, she was somewhat invisible). I picked her up, and brought her back to the cage. On another occasion, when Aziza flew towards my kitchen and suddenly disappeared, it was even freakier. I didn't see her in her cage. "Aziza!" I called. No answer came. "Aziza!!", I yelled, somewhat frantically. There she was, on top of my small black wooden step-ladder. I was glad I found her, unharmed, and that she hadn't gotten into any mischief. She's got a sense of humor, she's mischievous, and she's lovable. I can't imagine living without her (or without any pet(s)...period.).
