beakertrout's story about Beaker not wanting to go to bed reminded me of Ruby's bedtime ritual. When she's out of her cage as darkness is approaching she will "burrow" underneath one of the pillows on our couch or one of the chairs. It's like a cave for her - now that we know she likes this we set up the pillows so she has some room to snuggle in pretty easily.
She will do this EVERY night without exception. I think if we let her she might stay in there all night. The good news is when we're ready for bed she'll step up and go in her cage like a little angel!
She ONLY does this burrowing at night - never in the day. We've tried putting one of those 'snuggle blankets' in her cage thinking it might reproduce the "pillow cave" but she's not the least interested.
Anyone else have a grey that does something similar?

Mitzi used to like going behind a cushion on the sofa but I stopped her doing it in case she thought it might make a good nest. That was in the day though.
I think Ruby knows that getting dark means when it is getting near bedtime and she is preparing to go to sleep.
