I feed the wild birds every morning, I put the remnants from Monty and Mitzi's bowls plus some extra wild bird food. All sorts of birds come down for it - Jackdaws, Wood Pigeons, Collared Doves, Blackbirds, Robins. One Robin was trying to get at the food but the bigger birds wouldn't let it near so the feisty little Robin was jumping around and flapping its wings in an effort to make itself look bigger and bolder and unnerve the other birds but it didn't really work.

I do the same, Sheeba won't eat about half of the parrot mix, so the blue jays and crows get it. Plus I have nest boxes for chickadees on the side of the gazebo and they will get the smaller bits before the crows show up. Thomas

Only squirrels will eat Chy's leftovers so I just put wild birdseed out. If too many large birds come, I will put out seeds meant for finches until the big birds move on.
I love those nesting boxes Thomas.

It is funny to watch them. The Jackdaws waste a lot of time running around and squabbling among themselves. I always know when they have arrived because I can hear them making such a noise.
