I was watching a programme on TV about all sorts of small creatures ("Nature's Miniature Miracles: Natural World" on BBC2) There were some Hermit Crabs who don't have shells of their own so they have to use any discarded shells they come across. Because they need progressively larger ones as they grow, several of them will get together and form a queue in order of size, the biggest at the front and the smallest at the back. Then they all move into the shell in front. (The crab at the front of the queue moves into an empty shell that has been washed ashore.)

That sounds fascinating. Unfortunately, I got the message that the video is not available in this country.
