I had bought a babble ball in a pet shop, a motion activated toy which you can get for cats and birds (they are the same thing really but the bird one has a chain so you can hang it up) Even thought the battery tab was still in place the thing started going off and as I had some other shopping to do I was stuck with it for the duration. It was in my shopping bag making all sorts of miaowing, chirruping and various other noises. I ended up having to explain to people that I had a toy in my bag not a captured animal.

That's funny.
On Chy's recent checkup visit to the vet, I mentioned that I should take her with me to the grocery when it is very busy. She could yell, "move" at everyone. The vet then shared the story about needing to go into the grocery on the way home when she was taking home the cockatiel that usually stays at the office during the week. The tiel was in a little box and kept making peeping noises. The vet kept clearing her throat to try to cover up the sounds so no one would know she had a little bird with her.
