Hello to everybody, our names is Jeanne & Lee, we have a 15 year old congo african grey parrot named Rio. He is a very friendly bird and used to our house
Recently we thought he was having a seizure and nearly passed out, until he through up what appeared to be pieces of peanut. It took him awhile to recover that he could grasp our finger. After about one half hour he seemed OK. We thought he was going to die, this has happened about one half dozen times over a year. We stopped giving him peanuts in the shell & anything with bread or dough and he was fine till 2 days ago when we gave him a small piece of white american cheese and he had another episode shortly after. Note he has eaten all these things without incident all his life. We wonder what's going on now after all this time???
Would appreciate any advice or input. Thank-You Jeanne & Lee

Hello and welcome to the forum. It is difficult to say but seizures make me think it could be a calcium deficiency.

Greys are prone to calcium deficiency which will cause seizures. My vet suggested broccoli and eggshells to increase calcium. I give those to Chy every day and her calcium levels are normal.
