I'm Tammy, and I'm new here, and really excited to announce that I brought home my baby Peanut 3 weeks ago. She was hatched 8/11/16. She is not my first gray, as I had another one some years ago that I lost to very difficult divorce. Anyway peanut is just a joy to have. She's very friendly. When we brought her to her first dr. Appointment she was 360 grams now she is 374 grams and a very happy happy happy little girl. When we brought her home, the breeder told us that she was down to two feedings a day but now she wants 3 feedings, and I give them to her, mostly because I don't see her in her water dish a lot or enough I should say, and I don't mind hand feeding her. She's healthy and it helps with bonding. I figure once she is ready, she will wean on her own. I offer her all kinds of fruits and vegetables pellets and very little seeds. But she doesn't seem to like anything at this point. I think it's because new house new people and only one other bird and 3 dogs. I'm slowly introducing her to the dogs one by one and so far so good. She's even starting to babble a little bit. Sounds like she's trying to say words like hello, and peanut, and get out. I think that's for the dogs. I always tell the dogs to get out when they start playing in the living room, or when it's feeding time for no distractions. I am also hand feeding a little blue and gold macaw named Baby Bobby. He was hatch 9/19/16. Well we're not sure if it's a he waiting on the test results now if it's a she more than likely will call her baby. Well I just wanted to say hi, and tell you a little about us. So hello everybody, and I can't wait to meet all of you. 😊

Welcome to the forum.
Since you have previous experience with greys, you probably won't need advice. However, perhaps you can offer help to others when the need arises.
Keep us posted on Peanut's antics. We love to hear stories.
