I watched the film "Life of Pi" on TV last night. It was excellent and the special effects were stunning. I really enjoyed it.

The tiger in the film was from a zoo here in Ontario. The zoo is closing and all the animals need to be placed elsewhere.

I read the book first, but was pleasantly surprised with the movie. The special effects were better than I imagined. The whole thing was quite sad, but still interesting. It was my dream to be raised in a zoo. Now that I have a daughter, I'm hoping she is an animal person like me and then I'll have someone else on my side wanting animals. My husband likes animals to some extent, but he thinks I'm over the top.

I am with you Adele. My daughter and I are happy to have a little one so we have an excuse to go to petting zoos etc. We are both crazy about animals and are training my grandson to be an animal lover too.

I read the book... Haven't seen the movie yet. We've added it to our "must watch" list
